Born in Salerno in 1999, Antonio Scannapieco is an emerging figure on the European jazz scene. His artistic profile merges a solid classical and jazz foundation—built at the "G. Martucci" Conservatory in Salerno—with international experience gained during a two- year residency in Paris, a city that helped refine his cosmopolitan musical language.

In 2024, he received his first major recognition by winning the "Conad Jazz Contest" at Umbria Jazz with the "Scannapieco - Geremia 5et." This success launched an intensive concert schedule across prominent festivals and clubs, including Umbria Jazz Winter. In 2025, the quintet earned further international acclaim by winning the "New Generation JazzLab" award at the DaJazz Festival in St. Moritz, Switzerland. In this prestigious

setting, Antonio performed both with his own group and alongside world jazz icons such as Greg Hutchinson, Aaron Goldberg, Dario Deidda, and Roberta Gambarini.

That same year, he won the 29th edition of the Massimo Urbani International Award, judged by a jury presided over by Max Ionata. This victory led to the production of his debut solo album, evocatively titled Introducing Antonio Scannapieco.

His career is marked by high-level collaborations, including work with: Mario Biondi, Walter Ricci, the Scannapieco brothers, the Deidda brothers, Giovanni Amato, the Salerno Liberty City Band, Flavio Boltro, Fabrizio Bosso, Luca Mannutza, Lorenzo Tucci, and Gegè Telesforo. As a permanent member of the Salerno Big Band, he has shared the stage with international guests such as Danilo Rea, NY Voices, and Anthony Strong. His versatility has led him to perform in world-class venues and institutions, including the Opéra de Monte-Carlo with the Salerno Big Band, the "Giuseppe Verdi" Orchestra of Salerno, and tenor Vittorio Grigolo. In the funk genre, he collaborates with Dirotta su Cuba, performing at various Italian jazz festivals and appearing periodically at the Blue Note in Milan. Additionally, he has been a guest performer in concerts with Stefano Di Battista at "Le Duc des Lombards" in Paris, and with Omar Hakim and Rachel Z at the Pompeii Jazz Festival.
