Pasquale Geremia (2002) is a tenor saxophonist from Campania, Italy, recognized as one of the emerging voices of the new generation of Italian jazz.

He began his musical journey studying classical saxophone, earning first prizes in several international competitions, including the European Competition “Luigi Denza.” In 2020, he pursued formal studies at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica “G. Martucci” in Salerno under the guidance of saxophonist Daniele Scannapieco. A pivotal moment in his artistic development was his encounter with the bebop tradition through two masterclasses with Barry Harris.

His activity is primarily focused on live performance, both in original projects and collaborations, with constant attention to sound, interplay, and dialogue with jazz tradition, while keeping an open ear to contemporary music.
After completing his studies, he moved to Paris, where he connected with the city’s vibrant jazz scene and, together with trumpeter Antonio Scannapieco, founded the project Scannapieco/ Geremia 5et.
Upon returning to Italy in the summer of 2024, the quintet won the Conad Jazz Contest at Umbria Jazz, marking the beginning of an intensive performance schedule. In 2025, they received further recognition by winning the New Generation JazzLab at the DaJazz Festival in St. Moritz, Switzerland, participating in an artistic residency and sharing a week of music with artists such as Greg Hutchinson, Aaron Goldberg, Dario Deidda, and Roberta Gambarini. In the same year, the quintet was selected and awarded by the Italia Jazz circuit as part of the “Nuova Generazione Jazz” program.

Alongside the quintet, Geremia is active as a sideman and guest, collaborating with leading musicians including Daniele Scannapieco (his mentor), Tommaso Scannapieco, Sandro Deidda, Dario Deidda, Alfonso Deidda, Marc Abrams, Omar Hakim, and Rachel Z. He is also involved in artistic direction and masterclasses with renowned artists such as Max Ionata and Giovanni Amato.

Notable performances include Umbria Jazz Weekend, Umbria Jazz Winter, Saint Moritz Jazz Festival, Pompei Inn Jazz, Nocera Jazz Festival, Capaccio Jazz Festival, Salerno Jazz Festival, Sant’Agata Li Battiati Jazz Festival, Jazz Italiano per L’Aquila, as well as historic clubs like Camera Jazz & Music Club Bologna, Jazz Club Ferrara, and Mad Dog Torino, among many other national venues and festivals.
