Born and raised in Bologna, a small city in Northern Italy. She began studying classical piano at age 10 and has been singing since early childhood. She soon developed an interest in jazz, singing along to records and playing with friends. Chiara graduated from the University of Bologna in 2008 with a Master's degree in Anthropology, then graduated from the Bologna Conservatory in 2012 with a Master's degree in Jazz Music. She has attended numerous workshops with great artists such as Michele Hendricks, Rachel Gould, Roberta Gambarini, Jeremy Pelt, Harold Mabern, Barry Harris, Vincent Herring, Bob Stoloff, Sheila Jordan, and Dena DeRose. For several years, she also practiced Dhrupad, a form of North Indian classical music, studying in Italy with Francesca Cassio and in Varanasi (India) with Ritwick Sanyal. Chiara has performed live in clubs and festivals in Italy and abroad: Umbria Jazz, London Jazz Festival, CrossRoads Jazz Festival, Sunset Sunside Jazz Club, Jazzkeller Jazz Club, Porgy and Bess Jazz Club, Unterfahrt Jazz Club, Teatro Giordano, Ancona Jazz Festival, Bologna Jazz Festival, Muze, Torrione Jazz Club, Alexander Platz Jazz Club, Cantina Bentivoglio Jazz Club, Orsara Jazz Festival, Paradiso Jazz Festival, and many others. She has sung with many great Italian and American jazz musicians such as Cyrus Chestnut, John Webber, Joe Farnsworth, Darryl Hall, Kirk Lightsey, Fabrizio Bosso, Piero Odorici, Luca Bulgarelli, Nico Gori, Pietro Tonolo, Marc Abrams, Nicola Muresu, Nico Menci, Stefano Senni, Andrea Giuffredi, and many others. In 2012, she released her debut album titled *THE SONG IS YOU* with the Italian label DODICILUNE. Her latest album, *I WALK A LITTLE FASTER*, features Chiara performing alongside an excellent trio, with Cyrus Chestnut on piano, John Webber on bass, and Joe Farnsworth on drums. The record, released by the Dutch label Challenge Records, was awarded Best Vocal Jazz Album 2015 by the Japanese magazine *Jazz Critique Magazine*.
