Pasquale Geremia, born in 2002, is a tenor saxophonist from the Campania region and one of the emerging voices of the new generation of Italian jazz.
He initially trained in classical saxophone until the age of eighteen, distinguishing himself with first prize in several international competitions, including the "Luigi Denza" European Competition. In 2020, he began his academic studies at the "G. Martucci" State Conservatory of Music in Salerno, under the guidance of saxophonist Daniele Scannapieco. Fundamental to his training was his encounter with the bebop tradition through two masterclasses with Barry Harris.
His work mainly develops in the live sphere, between original projects and collaborations, with constant attention to sound, interplay, and dialogue with the jazz tradition, while maintaining an open view toward contemporary music.
After his academic studies, he moved to Paris, coming into contact with the city's vibrant jazz scene and starting, together with trumpeter Antonio Scannapieco, the Scannapieco/Geremia 5et project.
Upon returning to Italy in the summer of 2024, the quintet won the Conad Jazz Contest at Umbria Jazz, a victory that marked the beginning of an intense concert schedule.
In 2025, he obtained further recognition by winning the "New Generation JazzLab" at the DaJazz festival in St. Moritz (Switzerland), participating in an artistic residency and sharing a week of music with artists such as Greg Hutchinson, Aaron Goldberg, Dario Deidda, and Roberta Gambarini. In the same year, the Scannapieco/Geremia 5et quintet was selected and awarded by the Italia Jazz circuit as part of the "Nuova Generazione Jazz" program.
Parallel to his work with the quintet, Geremia also develops collaborative activities, including concerts and guest appearances, sharing the stage with leading musicians such as Daniele Scannapieco, who remains his mentor to this day, as well as Tommaso Scannapieco, Sandro Deidda, Dario Deidda, Alfonso Deidda, Marc Abrams, Omar Hakim, and Rachel Z.
Furthermore, his activities include the artistic direction of prestigious masterclasses with Max Ionata and Giovanni Amato.
Among the most significant concerts held, both with the quintet and as a sideman or guest, are Umbria Jazz Weekend, Umbria Jazz Winter, Saint Moritz Jazz Festival, Pompei Inn Jazz, Nocera Jazz Festival, Capaccio Jazz Festival, Salerno Jazz Festival, Sant’Agata Li Battiati Jazz Festival, Jazz Italiano per L’Aquila, Camera Jazz & Music Club in Bologna, Jazz Club Ferrara, Mad Dog Torino, and other clubs and festivals.
